I have a Bachelor's Degree in Christian Education from Tri-State Baptist College and a Master's Degree in Christian Counseling from Southern California Seminary. I am currently finishing another bachelor's degree in education studies at the American College of Education. I look forward to working in a classroom as a teacher in 2025.
Experience
I have been working with children since 1995. I started teaching in churches, and then went to college and got a Christian Education degree. In my twenties, I went to a Southeast Asian country for five and a half years. I spoke the language and taught children and teenagers. After moving back to the States and realizing I would not have children of my own, I had the privilege to foster nine children. As I researched and learned more about children from trauma and children with special needs I fell in love with these children. I also had comprehensive training in the Orton-Gillingham methodology, the foundation of all dyslexia curricula. Now, I get to teach numerous children. I have worked in life skills, functional academics, and behavioral support classes in public schools. I then became a behavior therapist and worked with children on the autism spectrum. I have a master’s degree in Christian Counseling and am working on another bachelor’s degree that will lead me to become a certified teacher in 2025.

Hobbies
When I am not tutoring I am researching new ways to teach math and reading, and tweaking my curriculum. It is truly my passion! I also enjoy teaching first through third graders at my church. Whatever I am teaching, I aim to make it fun. I enjoy eating chocolate and Mexican food and watching movies.
